Stanford Financial Group Raided

US Marshals today raided the offices of Stanford Financial Group in Houston, Texas. Apparently this site is also the HQs of this financial company which oversees around 50 billion dollars of financial assets.

According to available reports, about 15 or so agents made armed entry into the building with their complete gear – kevlar et al. The building is located in the Houston Galleria area and this bust was part of the ongoing investigation into fraud against the company executives including Robert Allen Stanford.

So far the investigating office or the company executives have not released any press statements but we will keep you informed of any new developments.

    Are employees of Stanford who were let go by the Stanford Group underreceivership effective Friday March 6th, 2009 eligible for COBRA? If yes how do they apply? And if no why aren’t they eligible and what options do they have?
