Welcome to the world of hard hitting reality. Bad economy was something we all heard mostly on news and media. Unless we or somebody we know got laid off, troubling economy was something we only heard about happening in distant shores. But now the troublesome reality is inching closer. And before we know it, we are going to be engulfed in it.
The residents of Kansas are going to find that out in soon and its going to leave them exasperated. The great state of Kansas has suspended income tax refunds and in fact may not even be able to pay employees on time. This is coming straight from the state’s budget director.
The reason for this hard hitting development is that the state has not enough money left in its bank account to pay the bills on time. Now the state leaders are planning to transfer about $225 million dollars from other bank accounts through out the state but this move requires approval from the political house. And the GOP is not ready to play ball with the ruling Democratic party.
And without the budget, the payroll cannot be met. I think the due date is coming Friday but lets see. So when you don’t have money to pay your own employees, processing tax refunds sounds less important.
